We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer / Lead Software Engineer – SDET to join a high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in software development, test automation, quality engineering, and automated testing across UI, API, integration, and backend services.

The role involves working closely with Software Engineers and cross-functional teams to understand complex enterprise platforms, build robust automated test frameworks, improve testability, and drive defect prevention throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Software Engineers to understand complex application and platform architectures.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for UI, API, integration, and backend testing.

• Develop automation solutions using Python or other object-oriented programming languages such as Java or JavaScript/Node.js.

• Participate in architecture and design discussions to improve application testability and enable comprehensive testing scenarios.

• Identify opportunities to prevent defects early through improved test strategies, automation, and engineering practices.

• Perform test planning, execution, defect identification, triage, diagnosis, and resolution in collaboration with engineering teams.

• Develop and execute end-to-end acceptance tests for critical application workflows.

• Create and execute manual test cases where automation is not suitable or sufficient.

• Continuously identify opportunities to convert manual test cases into automated tests.

• Build scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks aligned with engineering standards.

• Contribute to quality engineering practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

• Collaborate with development, QA, SRE, and other technical teams to investigate production and pre-production issues.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving overall software quality and reliability.

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in software development, SDET, QA automation, Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related roles.

• Strong experience with automated and/or unit testing of frontend and backend services.

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming and design principles.

• Strong hands-on experience with at least one major programming language:

  • Python

  • Java

  • Node.js / JavaScript

• Experience working in Agile and Lean development environments.

• Strong understanding of software development and testing processes.

• Experience using standard SDLC and collaboration tools, including Jira, Confluence, and version control systems.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Technical Qualifications

Test Automation & Development

• Hands-on experience developing production applications using Python, Flask, Django, React, or Node.js.

• Strong experience developing automated testing solutions for UI, API, integration, and backend services.

• Experience designing and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks.

• Proficiency in Gherkin syntax for automated test scenario development.

• Experience with end-to-end testing and acceptance testing.

Backend & Distributed Systems

• Hands-on experience developing and testing production-grade backend services and components using Python or Java.

• Familiarity with distributed messaging and event-streaming platforms such as:

  • Apache Kafka

  • Amazon SQS

  • Amazon Kinesis

Cloud & DevOps

• Experience developing and deploying applications on AWS.

• Understanding of cloud-native application development, deployment, and cost optimization.

• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation tools such as Spinnaker.

Quality & Engineering Tools

• Experience with test case and defect management tools such as Jira and Xray.

• Experience with source control and code management tools such as Git.

• Familiarity with code quality and static analysis tools such as SonarQube.

• Experience with monitoring and data visualization platforms such as Grafana and Datadog.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.

• Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
